Finally- decent mpg on my 06 QC 4WD G-56 slt 3500

630 miles on 34.5 gallons --- about 18.25 mpg. 7500 miles on truck. Have been getting 13.9 - 15 mpg. Empty. What did it? Put XZT tow box on and this is the first tank with it. However I also changed oil with Rotella 5-40 synthetic. I know I know, it isn't "true synthetic". Just has same specs as synthetic ( I think that is why some judge ruled they could call it synthetic.) Crock of crap and confusing.Think I'll try to find the true synthetic Valvoline Blue Extreme next time. Also I romped on it quite a bit since you can definitely tell a seat of the pants differenc. Also my filter minder had never move until I tried the xzt out, and pulled 1/3 way down. Reset it and it does it again. I want to get a better filter, and I know there are a million threads on it. I want to go with paper and no oil and just drop in. Have to do some research. Also I ordered the 60-100-140 quad race box. I hope the 60 hp is same as my xzt. I'll check it out. I guess if it gets same mpg I'll sell xzt and if it doesn't, keep it for towing and trips. Dang power bug bit me and now I've got the fever I guess.
