Fill Oil Into Manual Transmission

How do I fill ATF4+ into the manual transmission (6speed), without making a huge mess?

Pull the stick out, its not the easiest way but definatly the cleanest. Or you can do like i did and park in a ditch or on a steep hill and use a hose attached to the bottle.

Or use a small elec. pump if you have one.I have one but still prefer to pull the shifter so I can get an extra quart in.On the NV5600 its recommended to overfill by a quart, not sure about the G56.

I poured my trans fluid into a gear lube bottle and used a tube attached to the nipple end of the bottle. Why are you using ATF+4 in a manual trans? Mine called for the "special" fluid from Chrysler.

I've been looking for the dip stick in my 6 speed manual since I bought my truck.

Let me in on the secret place Dodge hid it, would ya?

The "stick" was the gear shifter.

I have a hand pump that fits in a lube bottle that I use to pump the fluid back in. Be ready for hand and arm crams.

The G-56's use ATF+4. I refilled w/Amsoil and bought their inexpensive pump. Works great. I always score a big piece of cardboard before changing anything under mine as I always make some kind of mess.

I use a 1 gallon gear lube container with a pump for filling the transmission.

You can get a drill operated pump from Napa for about $10. Then stop at the hardware store for a couple hose bib to hose barb connections and several feet of 3/8" or so hose.
I use that with a cordless drill for anything like fluid into the trans, t case, axles, change oil/trans fluid in the boat, etc.

X3 on the Amsoil and hand pump. If you come up north on your way to Reno or Tahoe stop by Sacramento and we'll change your G56 & you t-case in my driveway in less than 1 hour. Just buy the beer.
