Fan clutch not working, I think.

I just replaced the fan clutch this evening. The original cable coming off the fan clutch had broken for what ever reason, which I noticed when my a/c wasn't getting cold at idle anymore. Oddly, there was no check engine indicator illuminated for however long the cable has been broken. After replacing it with a SKP brand, I have the check engine light on, and (2) codes that I retrieved by turning the ignition key on and off a few times: P0480 and P0483. I know what they are, but I don't know why I'm getting it now. What's weird is my scan tool sees the engine light on, but sees no stored or pending codes. The a/c still isn't getting cold at idle when the engine is warm. And, the temp gauge on the dash is still hovering at or just over 200 degrees on a humid 76 degree evening running down the road between 65-70MPH. I suspected I would hear a change in the fan speed when the a/c compressor kicks in when idling, but I don't.

Any ideas would be helpful. I suppose its possible that I have a new part that's bad; it happens occasionally, but not often. And yes, the fan cable plug is seated completely, and I added an oxide inhibitor that I've always used on my harness plugs- it's the same product I use as an electrical contractor that is made by Ilsco.

I read the Chrysler service manual and did some troubleshooting. I had no voltage reaching the fan. After replacing fuse number 17, which is for the viscous fan, it was open- the broken part of the cable must have shorted against the radiator while removing it. Now, the fan spools up like it is supposed to when the condenser gets hot. I cleared the MIL with my scan tool and I've had no further issues. FYI for anyone who has the same problem.
