Factory Limited Slip Repairable?

Hey guys, I 'had' functional factory limited slip until recently. Changed gear lube and it came back to life briefly. What wears out? How do I fix it?
Early 2003 2500 5.9l cummins with 6 speed manual. Thanks,
Nick

Did you overfill it? Also, Dodge now recommends using a friction modifier.

the limited slip needs resistance to function, if off road, a touch of brake peddle or a touch of e brake will help it sense load, and lock.

The TracRite helical LS doesn't like oil that has friction modifiers. The slipperier the oil the less the TracRite locks. These differentials don't lock up like the Dana does with clutch plates. Fill it with cheap 80-90w GL-5 and change it often.
