Exhaust Manifold Color?

Since we bought the truck in April last year we have put about 4000 miles on it. It had 98,000 when we picked it up and now has 102,000. Is my exhaust manifold showing signs of excessive heat? or is this a normal color? I also took a pipe and listened to the engine around the valve cover. There is a rattle or knock at the #1 or #2 injector. Is this normal? The noise goes away at certain speeds depending on how much I'm pressing on the gas pedal. Thanks for any info.

exhaust manifold

I can't address the noise issue but you E manifold looks exactly like my old 2001 and my current 2004. Rust they will.

Manifold is rusty....all of em are unless you get it coated. The knock is also common to the #1 cylinder.....with engine running grab the #1 injector line.....you'll feel the knock in it.

No worries. The knock felt in the injection line is inherent to the fuel system design....it's perfectly normal.
