Excessive smoke after long highway driving

Does anyone else get excessive smoke with throttle after driving down the interstate for long periods of time? I am talking about a cloud that can make headlights behind you vanish. While on the way back from TX, after approx 600 miles of driving 70-75MPH constant, I gave the truck around 3/4 throttle and I couldnt see the car behind me on the interstate! This only happens after long interstate runs. The truck runs perfectly normal and has perfect driving manners along with the normal smoking the rest of the time. Knocked out just under 19 MPG at 75MPH on a trip of 1300 miles. Just curious if anyone elses truck does this.

Thats the kind of driving I do everyday. In fact just tonight after 2 hours of wheel time, I was in the passing lane behind someone when another car came up behind me. They were so close I couldn't see their taillights. As soon as the car in front of me moved back into the right lane, I pushed the go pedal and smoked the car behind me. . They usually back off then.

It is soot that settles in the exhaust. When you hit the throttle, it clears it out, like clearing your throat. I get that all the time under the conditions you have mentioned. Once it's cleared out, then it's just the normal haze when accelerating.

That is alot of carbon build up! I never really thought of a carbon build up as a problem on this truck. But then again the truck drove 1300 miles in 19 hours. I love that trip to TX. Guess thats one more reason to let the dog catcher find the kitty and have the muffler fall off in a pothole when I get out of warrnety. Thanks.

try cruising around yellowstone, empty, using the exhaust brake to slow down, after about 1/2 hour of 30 mph, you tromp it and watch all of the pretty scenery disappear.

Same here, freeway or around town. Nothing to worry about.
