After months of frustration I noticed the pink / blue wire was rubbed through on my truck.
Mine has been going into 4wd all by itself.... Not too bad until it tries to go into 4lo when I'm going 60.
I frogged around with this thing for almost a year and had changed the TIPM computer and then finally had the service department pull the AC sensor plug and it was still doing it, finally I just pulled the 4wd servo harness and then when I went to put on my new 5" Magnaflow system I finally noticed this wire....
I sure hope this fixes my 4wd issue!!!!!

Just finished reading all of this thread and I still have a few questions...
Truck is a 2003 3500 6 spd with 290k with Diablo program set in Tow Mode
I have a flatbed on the truck with a recessed fuel filler neck, and had some water that ended up flowing into the fuel cap recently. The WIF light has been on, and I have drained the fuel canister several times, and replaced the filter, but the light is still coming on occasionally.
I didn't worry too much about the WIF light, until this weekend while travelling on the interstate, I had a few occasions that the truck would stutter, hiccup, stumble, miss, etc... It would do this while cruising on flat ground or climbing hills, but it seemed to be random. Happened one little hiccup, then 30 miles late, another longer series of hiccups, then a couple hours later, it hiccuped for about 10-15 seconds.
The hiccups engaged the CEL light, and these are the codes I have.
P0483 - Fan Clutch
P0602 - I've read that this is just a nuisance code
p2269 - Water in Fuel
p0169 - Lift Pump or Water in Fuel???
p0336 - CPS - which has me on this thread.
I looked under the A/C compressor and my truck has tape and split loom, and I don't see any bare wires. It seems that most of the A/C wire issues involve the 04.5up trucks.
Does anyone have any advice on what I need to be looking at on this truck, or what items I need to testing first?
Thanks,
Chris

I LOVE THIS FORUM!! I've been having an intermittent CEL and loss of power for probably a year now and kept getting P0069 and a bunch of other codes. It would never show itself when the mechanic had it. For the last week or so the CEL stayed on the loss of power was much more frequent which got me researching. On the three wires going to the pressure switch by the compressor the wire loom/insulation was completely gone. They were not rubbed through but it must have been enough to interrupt the signal and throw everything out of whack. Just wanted to share and say thanks to others who posted.
