i have had the hic up since mine was new over a year ago

mine occurs when i put it in gear and give it a little throttle like pulling out of the driveway

never have noticed it when on the highway

i have 7600 miles on mine and it may do it twice a week at most

I think we found the problem!

I think we found the problem!

I had the Python 881 brain remove on 7/21/04 and didn't have any hic-cups. On Wednesday August 4th we put the Python back in, I didn't even get out of the driveway and the hic-cups were back. Removed the Python again, and went on the NorthWest Bombers Campout (What a great time!) and the Security dealer called DEI while I was at the campout. Went back today and they put a "New Brain" in the system. Hic-cups were back!

The tech said that the only thing that was connected to the ECM was the tach wire that tells the Security system that the engine is running. He said that he could disconnect it and change it to a voltage line to tell the Security system that the engine was on.

BINGO! I have driven about 30 miles now without a hic-cup! I think we got it fixed now!

After my last visit to the dealer I came to understand a slightly varied use of it...

UP chuck

Big Bob.... what a relief to have an intermittant problem like that diagnosed.
I'm truly happy for you.

Do you have a security system, turbo timer or remote start? Find out if the installer tapped into the tack wire to tell your security system, turbo timer or remote start that the engine is running. If it is have them change that wire to another power wire. The purpose of this, from what my installer said, is to let the system know the engine in running.

My problem was that wire tapped into the tack wire on the ECM.
