neverenough,

When I first got mine I also did not know what Coolant to put in it so I had to read and ask many Q's, so I don't see you asking questions as being a pita.

Also I have found out that many dealers don't always know what they are talling about when it comes to the Cummins. That is why I talk to and ask Q's from a cummins mech and also read on several forms so that when I have to take it in to a dealer I know if what they say may be incorrect or think he is BSing me.

Good luck.

C.

I know that HOAT means Hybrid Organic Acid Technology.
If you call the Cummins Tech line and talk to a tech they will tell you that "Technically" the Cummins motor is made to run on 40% collant and 60% water, or approx. 3gal collant and 4gal water. They tell DC and consumers 50/50 to keep it simple.

You know there really should a final posting in the tech category on CUMMINS ENGINE COOLANT. Here's the thing, dodge makes it with the multiple Aluminium radiators, five in total if you count them with the Auto. So they are mated with a cummins industrial medium duty six banger cast iron block and head arrangement. Now common sense tells a man that you should change your coolant every two years max if not every year (****). However Mother Mopar/ DODGE says your coolant is good for five years or 100,000 miles? Their should be no doubt and change it with H.O.A.T. COOLANT which comes in Zeerex Go5 or the FORD equal ( Gasp). That's it boys your cummins iron block and heads don't care it is all the Dodge Aluminium Radiators that cause the need. Never mind the hype that the factory fill is good for 5 years or 100,000 miles. Change it out and good luck totally bleeding all the old coolant out of the block! Here's a tip, park your rig nose DOWN.....
