Don't know the cost anywhere else but genosgarage.com has them for the 03-05 trucks for about $50. If you have the Jake brake then they are about $85.

I had this problem on the gasser I had before this truck. It started after I replaced the water pump and came to find out that the truck had 2 different water pumps, one with a shorter shaft. So this was an alignment problem.

Local dealer checked mine, said everything was aligned,they did replace the belt I guess we will see what happens.

That's the "fix" that most of us received. Keep your eye on it, and let us know if it happens again.

napa's belt is 100% warranteed. Full replacement for the life of the vehicle.. and it is only about $40.00 I replaced mine a while ago and havent had any problems with it since.

Yes, I remember, you're another member, like me, of the "early miles belt shredding club." And, like the rest of us, your replacement seems to be holding up.
