EGT Issues?

Pulling a 15000 lb fiver/23000GCWR coming up I15 out of Vegas climbing the first hill i have to back off at about 55/58 mph ,EGTS are climbing over 1350,similar on other long grades,am i expecting too much?Good boost 38lbs/fuel pressure at 98 %, running mostly on level 2 40 hp setting.I have the fte resonator and a Max Flo pro muffler, wondering if too much restriction in the muffler, thinking of possibly going to a Hushpower 4INCH PRO SERIES.ANY ADVICE APPRECIATED.

My setup is over 26k and if I leave it in OD and stay in the go peddle it'll climb like that. You have to slow down and kick it down a gear. I can climb a wall like that at 1100deg. Check you air filter too.

Edit: just noticed those 305's are kickin' yer a$$ too if you have the factory 3.73.

Changed the tires to 285/55/20,so pretty close to stock with 373,s.,i do knock her down and try to keep the rpm up .I used to run a 5x51 NELSON and the egts would hang in the 1300 range and stay pulling like a bear, now it seems on a long 6/7% grade i have to back off more even though theres more go peddle.iNTERCOOLER LEAK?

38psi is about all I get with the boost fooler. So I don't think there's a leak. Tires are off by 2.3% over the stock 265's. That doesn't seem like alot, but it does make a difference. Do you still hve the cat? I dumped mine when I notice it must have been loading up with daily driving. It always ran so much better after a good hard pull and high egts. Figured it was burning the gunk out. In any wvent it runs better without it, but does have a bit more smell to it. Mabe a new air filter, fuel filter, and delete pipe would help.

Everything is serviced and up to date,no cat on a 3500 in CAN, IM thinking the resonator,a 25 inch plus the muffler is approx 36 inches is too restrictive. When i lay into it the EGTS WILL SPIKE TO 1370 approx then back down immed to say 1250 and build.I like the resonator as its very quiet in the cab, so i,mi thinking maybe a shorter less restrictive muffler like a Hushpower pro series might drop my egts by 50 degrees or so which would be fine.

It's due to the Edge Juice. It uses alot of duration which causes EGT issues. To correct the issue, dump the Edge, get some gauges, and plug in a Smarty Jr. Problem solved. These trucks naturally run hot anyway. Only other way to control the EGT's is to back off the go pedal.
