Maybe the 04.5 will have 400 HP / 700 lb-ft and they don't want everyone to know yet.

Re:E-mailed dodge about engine.

good possibility Hoss....they want to move all 03's and as many current 04's before they turn out the new HO. JMO...I have been wondering why they have rebates on 04's with 03's left ???....never rebate new 04 until all 03's are gone or you will have people opting for the 04 for just a little more money and be losing your tail on the 03's still sitting on the lot. Makes me think they have something up their little sleeve.

Re:E-mailed dodge about engine.

Perhaps the Feds stepped in and told them they have to reduce emissions in any truck built from this day forward, so they had to put a hold till the EGR stuff gets figured out?

(kinda feel like Hoss, stirring things up, not enough EGR posts lately )

doubt it, since Cummins and Dodge have a contract till 07.

Yes but so did Navistar and Ford for a V6 diesel. That contract was cancelled. Can you imagine the resale of '03 and early '04 if they did put a huge HP/torque engine in?? Mebbe Hoss IS right??????

Re:E-mailed dodge about engine.

Dunno people seem to want the HP and LBS. If the '03 and early '04 have less then down the road people might want the higher hp trucks. Just speculating..

Re:E-mailed dodge about engine.

I am vey happy with what I got. The other thing to consider is if you intend to bomb, the egr will affect the ability to heavily bomb the engine. If you think a new turbo is expensive now wait until you have to get a replacement VGT turbo.
