The EMS kit appears to use a modified Dana spicer spindle but the hub WMS depth is different than any dana 60 hub ever manufactured so you either.

A: make a different caliper bracket and use a different caliper rotor combo which utilizes a std hub that has been previously used and is redily available

B: use the std dana 60 spindle redrill it for the dodge knuckle so it bolts in place of the unit bearing, get all std bearings and then have a special hub made so that you can maintain the stock rotor and caliper and the only custom part is the hub.

Is there any way to disconnect the front end without a full hub kit? For EG, a floating axle cap with no axle behind it?

Does anyone have an exploded parts view of the front axle/ bearing assy? There has to be some way to do it.

I to am debating about having one of these kits installed. So the question remains which kit is better EMS or DYNATRAC? My axle u joints are bad and the hub bearings won't come off unless I damage them, so for about $1000.00 more I am going to buy one of these kits. WHICH KIT TO BUY?????
Anyone????

I hear ya, but I don't have either one yet myself, but want one. I do know that Dynatrac is made about 45min from my house and all parts are made there, not farmed out to other places. At least that is what I am led to believe. Dynatrac were the 1st on the market. EMS is also probably very good but they farm out their machine work, some to Australia. EMS cost less. My personal feelings are that this is no area to guess at. Get the best you can find and feel safe with, it's what holds the front wheels on!!!! Because of where they are and their A1 track record I will probably go with Dynatrac. Just my opinion and that's all.

You guys forgot one very important thing, the factory wheel bearings usually give little to no warning before failing. That could leave you stranded in the middle of BFE 500 miles from home if you travel a lot. I have not bought a kit yet but would like to for that reason alone.

Exactly Minwy,

I'm getting ready to spend time down on the Baja and don't want to spend it stuck... Is it worth taking another stock hub and rotor ready to go? It doesn't sound like I could press the studs on the side of the road... From everything I hear the stock hubs go without warning when they feel like it. Anyone else heard otherwise?

Mine only have 7500 highway miles and I was very careful not to cause damage when I took them off. But buying/selling is forbidden in the open forum.

I am semi-local to EMS and know the quality of work they do and would not hesitate to get their kit. The fact that some forging and machining is done in Austrailia should not concern anyone as the machined parts from there are very high quality and they have a high grade of steel there.

I did not even think about this kit until I saw this thread and with the fuel savings it really seems to make sense as I do drive 35K/yr. and want to own my '02 for a long time. Thanks for the information.

i have put 7k on my ems kit so far and its trouble free. They both use timken bearings and races, so as long as you pack them good and torque the locknuts correctly you should be good to go until the next service time
