thanks for the pics! Did you press in your seals? I usually take a rubber hammer and make sure I start them straight before I pound the seals in. I am starting to gather some tools that I will need and didn't want to buyu a press or have to take the hubs somewhere to press anything in.

You talking about the inner wheel bearing seals? I have always used a brass drift and i have probably done close to 100 over time for various people. I used a brass drift to install races as well, i cannot think of any special tools needed, i used a block of wood and a hammer for the axle ujoints took about 5 mins per side but once again i have done a TON of these. Main thing is a good impact wrench for all the wheel studs etc...

For those with the EMS conversion is the ABS sensor exposed or sealed like the factory set up? Any regrets buying the EMS kit or wish you spent the extra cash for the DYNA-TRAC kit? Opinions encouraged because by Friday I have to bite the bullet and buy one of these conversion kits and as of right now I am leaning to the EMS because of PRICE$$$$$$$

Ems was very high quality, abs sensor is just like stock. All machining was perfect everything was there etc... Both use warn hubs and dana 60 bearings seals etc...

Plus EMS is still a small time shop so the service is very helpful

I just wanted to get this back up top. So did any one buy one. I got mine and installed it and everything like that, but i have one question about the hubs them selves. Mine are almost floating, not tight to the bearing assembly and i would like them to be tight. do any of you have this problem? Thanks

Why wouldn't dodge put manual locking hubs in from the factory? Since everything now a days is about being "green" and "raising the average mpg" this seems like the easiest way for dodge to raise the mpg's in their biggest line of trucks thus widening the gap between ford and dodge's gas mileage. Just think what their marketing dept. could do with that.....

has to do with the all mighty dollar. it is cheaper and faster to throw on a hub assembly on the assembly line, than to put on locking hubs. but i agree, dodge needs to wake up. only dodge and ford have solid axles on their heavy duty trucks and you can get locking hubs on the ford from the factory!!

Because they they could not advertise "shift on the fly" capability.

Dynatrack!!!

HC-00D-SW-30 is $1295 from EMS
CR60-2X1104-E is $1895 from Dynatrac

Is the Dynatrac worth the extra $600?

Is there a better place to get the kits (less $)?

After seeing a 3-4 MPG gain with my front differential out, and my truck being 2 wheel drive I now pick up speed rolling up hill (or so it seems!)

Overhead went from 23-24 to 26-27 on the highway. It's also SOoooo smooth.

Less vibration etc... The better front wheel bearings and cost savings with just that later on is a big reason to make the switch too.

Collecting data and need to order to be available when my new ring and pinion gears come in. (mine were damaged)

Your feedback would be appreciated! Thanks.
I went the Dynatrack route. I've got way to many mods to trust anything but the best. As you describe,... there is a much more free rolling affect of the Dynatrac system. Love the WARN hubs,... smooth operation while in a foot of snow and ice. My stock hubs went out at 42k miles and the dealer even replaced them with hubs that were worse,... down right scary deal,... there is no comparison with oem hubs and Dynatrack,... as you would suspect. I'm saving the oems and they'll go into the truck as well as the oem short shafts when I get rid of the truck and hopefully these will work on my next Dodge down the road.

Get the Dynatrac kit! The extra $300 is worth for them to press in the bearing races! The EMS kit does not come with these pressed in. Also, the short outer splined shafts on my EMS were not made to spec and I had to do some considerable grinding to get them to fit through the steering hole. It works great now, but was not as easy as it is posed at EMS.

I had no problems with my ems kit. Took me about 5 mins per hub to knock the bearing races in with a brass drift... my shafts fit fine?
