How many miles on the truck? The DMF's are pretty prone to failure.

A lot of people have traced vibrations to the front driveshaft as well.

Did the vibration just start, or has it always been like that?

If it's vibrating at idle I'd guess the flywheel also. I gave my stock DMF to a guy with an 06 because of the same problem. His had a lot of play between the 2 pieces after he removed it. If you do have a flywheel problem I strongly suggest that unless you get one free and are doing the labor yourself DO NOT buy another OEM clutch. They're very expensive and will fail again. I suggest calling a South Bend Clutch dealer and getting at least a solid flywheel replacement.

There's a TSB out on the later 2005s (with the G56 & DMF) that seems like what your dad has got going on. It's TSB #18-015-05 REV. A
