So I think my front clutches are toast and Im thinkin about rebuildin the transmission. Im thinkin about doin it myself and have built a couple GM trannys before and dont have the money to go out and buy a full billet tranny from someone. Also I like doin projects on my truck myself cause it make me feel better when i see the finished product. But my question is, what all is included in the DTT master rebuild kit for the 04.5 48re transmission. I just bought DTT's tripple disk t/c and valve body and im plannin on buyin the billet input while im in there, but what all is included with the master kit. Will I need anything else or does it have everything ill need to do the rebuild? Besides specialty tools of course but I have access to thoses. Thanks in advance.
Call and talk with Stephan or Shanti. You can order the rebuild kit how you want it. Meaning, if there are specialty tools need to put in a certain piece, they can put that piece together before it ships. You really can custom order a rebuild kit and do as much or little of the install as you like.
That said, the rebuild kits come with new clutches, frictions, servos, accumulator piston, plus a bunch of other stuff. If it is a plastic OEM part, then it is most likely upgraded to billet. You might also think about replacing the OEM pressure governor assembly (?) with a GM unit as they are more durable.
I don't know much about transmissions, but I did just order up a tranny from DTT, and we covered a lot of this stuff. And it's just flowing out of my fingertips. It's getting installed in a couple weeks. Master rebuild with triple disc TC, billet input/ output/ flexplate and I'm think I'm gonna get the shift enhancer too. Hope I got some of it right. Give 'em a call.

Well i have their phone number cause i already ordered their tripple disk t/c valve body, billet accumalator, billet anchor and strut, and the gm conversion kit, and i was gonna call them i was just wonderin before i called.
