NP 273 Transfer Case - need help

I need a NP 273 Transfer case for my 06 2500. My tranny guy is quoting good labor time/rate, but his parts price is very high for a used T Case (1950.00). The Dodge dealer is cheaper for a brand new MOPAR T Case (1695.00) but is insane high on labor time/rate.

SO, does anyone know where I can get a good T Case for cheaper than above in the Alabama, Georgia, Fla Panhandle area. I want to just go pick it up myself and bring to my tranny shop friend.

Any help is appreciated...

I had to replace mine a while back. I bought it from the dealer for $1100 and some change. Did not pay that expensive labor, it took me and a friend about 45 min's to change it out. Very simple job, a few wrenches and a friend and it is done. Cant remember if it was shipped with fluid in it or not better check.

One guy can change it out pretty easy. Four bolts hold in on the back of the tranny. I am not that big and strong but I can slide it back, drop it on my chest, and roll it off to the floor. Reverse, rinse, repeat. Do it yourself and save some dough. Pretty easy job.

NV 273 Transfer Case

Thx for the info. Does anyone have any experience with a company called Transfer Case Express out of Spartanburg SC? They have a reman NV 273 for 795 bucks plus 100 SH. I have not been able to find a new or used one for less than 1650. And this ReMan has the 12 month unlimited mile warranty like the new ones I have found. So, Im leaning toward the Re-manufactured case - what say ya'll....

Hey Joel, what happend to your T Case? The reason I had to replace mine was due to a fluid leak. The fluid leaked out the end of the yoke and by the time I found it, it was too late. Just curious as to what happend to yours.
