I have a 2003 drw 3500 laramie i have this drone that is driving me nuts dealers don't know what it is they called dc but no reply
It starts at 1700 till you get to 2300 and when the speed is pass 60 it seem to get quiet then as soon as it get bellow 2300 it start to growl at slow speed in town you can hear it growling louder any solution

 

replace the muffler with an aeroturbine muffler eliminates drone from my expeirience's

Ring and pinion?? Sounds like what I was experiencing.
