DPP 4" owners, do you have drone?
Hey. Wanted to hear from those who installed the dpp 4" system. How does it sound, is there a hum or drone at highway speeds or otherwise etc?
Secondly, how did folks feel about T-409 stainless vs T-304? The 304 is quite a bit more.
Thanks

Greetings, no noticeable drone... The exhaust note is louder, but not that much. The truck sounds more like a piece of heavy equipment... You get a noticeable turbo whistle at idle, I like it....

LOVE DRONE!

Does that mean the dpp exhaust drones? Does that also mean I'll pick up extra women because love drone? ???

Re:DPP 4" owners, do you have drone?
Mine has none. I've had it on for about 5 months now. I forget it's even on there now. After installation, I drove around with all windows down ALL the time;D. I love the way it sounds.
Re:DPP 4" owners, do you have drone?
Well their is some drone yes, guess I don't know how bad it is compared to other systems because this is all I have had. You are making the exhaust louder so their is going to be more in cab noise. It is more noticable when you are pulling and is not to bad when you are empty, you get use to it I guess. I wouldn't mind finding away to get rid of is but wouldn't want to give up and performance.
Re:DPP 4" owners, do you have drone?
I have a slight resonance at 2000 rpm. I do not mind the sound. My girl friend said she noticed it but after 3 months now, neither one of us really notices it. Like others have said, when you step up to performance exhaust you will get more noise in the cab. You have to decide. I got the t 304 because that was all the dueal system was first offered in. I am glad I spent the money now, but it was hard to swallow at first. I think I talked to Mark at least 3 or 4 times before I purchased the system.

Lightman,
We also have dual 4 inch system available now if you really want to have the hottest thing available, just though I would throw this out and confuse the issue, sorry couldn't resist!

thanks, but I"m moving to Cleveland, dont think aluminized would do very well with all the salt!
Thanks for the pic. The duals look killer. Does anyone think they provide any more EGT reduction or performance, or is it strictly for looks?

"The Diesel Performance Parts system will lower your exhaust gases by up to as much as 200 degrees, while providing a quicker spool up time on your turbocharger. There are even fuel mileage gains with our exhaust system, which will vary by individual driving style and location. The horsepower and torque gains will depend on your manufacturer and model of truck and are listed in the application section of our site. Extra power is great, but lower exhaust gasses will allow you to make other performance modifications to your diesel engine and still keep the exhaust gas temperatures at a safe level."
Sounds good to me !

NJoverkill - I guess I should have been more specific, instead of saying 'they' ..... I meant the duals. Of course a high flow aftermarket system will reduce EGTS. I think 200 is exaggerating but hey thats marketing... I was just curious if there was any difference between the dual and single dpp systems as far as egt reduction/performance.
It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!

I have used aluminized exhaust systems for years in extreme salt road conditions and IMHO they outlast the regular OE exhausts by far. Given a choice I will always go for the aluminized exhausts.

So what is the metal that makes up our stock exhaust system? I thought it was aluminized steel. It certainly isn't Stainless.
Talk about salt in OH. Today on the highway the dried up salt was blowing around so much behind the cars on the turnpike, I was thinking I'd have to change out my new air filter already due to the salt crystals plugging it up!
