Down shifting noise with G56

Another transmission fear...

When ever I down gear to 5th and 3rd. I get a noise. I can feel it in the shifter and hear it. It sounds like marbles rolling around. It goes with the speed decelerating. 4th is fine and second good if I can get it into 2nd. I first noticed it in 3rd when I was pulling a 20ft enclosed trailer with about 2500 miles on it. Its much louder and noticable when the truck is cold.

Any thoughts on this? Or is it normal?

Thanks!

I'm not sure if I have that same noise, but mine is kinda noisy when shifting, atleast compared to my old NV4500. It doesnt shift very smoothly either, anyone else have these issues?

I would think its because it a brand new tranny. How many miles do you have on it? How many oil changes and what kind of oil? It usually takes awhile for new manuel tranny's to get smooth...

Well I just barely turned over 14K today so maybe after a fluid change she'll loosen up.

Normal

I wouldnt worry about the noise. Mine has over 41K miles and has made that noise since new. 3rd and 5th are noisy, 2nd, 4th and 6th are quiet. I just chalked it up to the position of the shifter telegraphing the gear noise in the tranny while in 3rd and 5th. It probably makes it in 1st also, but engine speed and noise make it impossilbe to hear anything else.

Thanks for the input so far. I have not changed my transmission fluid yet. I changed my engine oil at 4k.

Any suggestions? Have the dealer check the fluid levels maybe, I remember reading something about that...

Thanks!
