does the 48RE in the 07 5.9 have a lock up converter?
No the 07 still have the 48RE. The new 08's use a 68RE I think that is what it is called. The AISON is only available on the cab and chassis model 3500 and 4500's and 5500's. Still with that said I drove a new 08 model and that tranny felt great.
well i know for sure its not a 6 speed in mine. other then i dont know what model it is, but it is a 4 speed auto. ill look under it tomorrow though since i just got tonight and its dark out !
also i can barely feel it lock up, if at all? my 2003 you could fell that thing lock up !

yeah yeah!!!! LOL! When warranty runs out and the tranny is toast I'm gonna do something to mine.
Bullit what year is yours? If it's a four speed and it's newer than 03 it's a 48RE. If it's a 6.7 it's a six speed.

Kind of like mine. I got mine about 2 months ago and it has the 5.9 in it. That was my main reason for getting it was because it's not around anymore and I wanted what I'm used to!
Give it time to break in. In mine I couldn't feel it for a while but I finally started noticing lock up at like 4000 miles. Not that it wasn't before that, but I didn't notice it. This is my first diesel auto so I'm not used to putting it in D and driving off!! Also let your computer learn the truck. I remember when a friend had to have a new ecm put in his and it shifted like crud for a while and it was a rebuilt DTT tranny. So long story short, give it time and miles and it'll come around. One other thing put it in tow/haul and see if you notice it then. I bet you will!!

Silly question...
What is this "locked up" that you guy are talking about suppose to do??
I have an 07' 3500 mega automatic with PMT. I notice the TC locked up display on my screen every now and then when I'm pushing it hard down the hiway.
