Is it dodge's fault?

If the trans can actually jump out of park somehow the "fix" is pretty lame. Someone with the "fix" will soon be able to report that they parked the truck, got out then heard it start to honk at them just before it drove off. DC will have a hard time getting out of that claim and if it just happens once I'd think they'd need to re-think the whole BEEPBEEPBEEP fix.
Let's see.

Right on the money!! D/C is under pressure to do SOMETHING and that means a warning. But being AWARE of a problem is still no match for preventing it in the first place AND remedying the current problem. Like:
Hey YOU HAVE CANCER okay- I did my part.
Personally? I would contact the Attorney General's office for a Lemon Law (Gen Bus Law article 98) complaint. you do not need a lawyer, just a solid
point, follow the guide they give you and please, get your recall beep set up.

I think they will pay for it. They have admitted that it is a problem and came up with a solution to the problem. They should be responsible for a failure in the truck and its damages that it may cause. I could have sworn someone on TDR had the problem and DC paid to fix it.
I idle mine in neutral with the park brake on just like the manuals. I also make sure there is no kids in the truck at the time. Even in drive the park brake keeps it from moving. (Helps it warm up quicker in the cold winter mornings, as I discovered.) I don't know why everyone is so afraid of neutral in an automatic anyway. That's not to say that if you put something in park that it shouldn't stay there!!! By the way, Dodge transmissions don't circulate fluid in park. If you are idling in the morning to warm it up, put on the park brake and throw it in neutral to warm up both the engine and the tranny. My manuals, I used to idle in 3rd or 4th gear with the transfer case in neutral (Park Brake On Obviously). Never had an input shaft bearing seize. This POP INTO REVERSE happened to a guy out where I work and his truck just missed a power pole that would have knocked half the plant down and a storage cavern wellhead that had 30,000 cubic meters (30 million liters) of Butane in it. They certainly need to fix this problem.

I use my emergency break very time I park a vehicle. I can tell you I'm 100% positive mine has gone from park to reverse just after I bought it. I backed up to my camper, put it in park, set the e-break, got out to hook up the camper and then I heard the truck load. I looked up to see if someone had got in the truck and no one was around. Always set your e-break!!!! People have actually been killed by this problem, keep in mind that one of our members lost a member of his family to this very problem when you are responding to this!!
