Once the 06s are gone they aren't going to be giving the great deals that are available today. I'd get one now.....

Holy cow! When I was a senior in high school I was worried about how I was gonna put gas in my POS Camaro and picking up chicks! I wish I'd of had a CTD when I was in school! Spring for the 06. Congrats on being in the position to buy a new CTD at such a young age. It took me til I was 29 til I could afford one! Cool!

Did you mean to say 07? If so I would say get an new 06 that way you don't have any worries about new things not having the bugs worked out and at the same time you can save your dad some money by taking advantage of end of the year prices and incentives.

there are no real bugs , some people who drive around floored all the time complain about poor mileage and a few trucks have small repairable issues that you will certainly chance facing with any brand of truck. I have an 06 that hasnt had one single issue as does my brother. I would say buy now and as quickly as you can because they are giving great deals on the 06's and wont have them for to long. be sure and get 373 gears and unless your going to be towing about 90% of the time and I would get an automatic. I strongly suggest that before you buy a 6 speed you drive one around town and on the freeway. except for towing the automatic is so much more pleasant to drive. with the 6spd you will spend ALL your time shifting around town and be in 6th gear by 30mph and on the freeway your truck will be screaming at 70mph. I have both and would way rather drive the auto.

I have an 06 as well with zero issues (knock on wood). Im not in 6th till 40mph though not 30 and thats driving conservatively (it was the same before the 35's). At 70 with the 35's, i run right at 2k rpms and at 75 im running 2150. I avg 17-18 mpg with 23k on the clock. I would definately go for the 06 if i were you.

Oh, and cool Coors Light avatar. If I was 18 and had a taste for Coors beer, I doubt Dad would have gotten me a CTD...

Nor mine. That's why I had a taste for Shiner Bock.
