Also measured it at bottom of rear hitch at 17 inches before and 19 inches after install.

Was something in bind? If your rear hanger is above the spring ( should be ) then your truck should have went down, not up. The air bags should not be an issue if empty and not bottoming out.

Nothing is binding. The air bags are between frame and axle and they do not collapse down to nothing. So what happens with the air bags in there only rear half of spring is pulled up higher and in turn pushes down on middle spring at axle. If I put any air at all in bags they really push rear of truck up. I would have never guessed that this would happen.

same questions as in the towing section in which I said that the air bags lifted the truck 2" or more even with no air in them.

BigBegum69, Nice looking ride. Do you have Firestone 5,000 lb air bags in rear?

no airride. I also added new shocks because the stock ones were bottomed out. it rode like crap with the stock shocks, i added monroes and it made a hell of a difference.

I just installed KYB Gas-A-Just shocks all around and they work excellent before I installed these short shackles, It's been 4 days now and it has settled down about 1/4 to 1/2 inch when I let all the air out, but I can't ride around with no air or I'll damage the air bags. It seems like the truck is riding on the air bags and fighting them and not using the leaf springs, if it wasn't for the air bags these short shackles would have worked good but too late to cry about it now, Saturday they are coming out. Maybe someone without air bags would make me a offer.

I don't know if it's OK to try and sell these short shackles for $50 to your door, but if it's OK, send me a PM, hope I'm not bending the rules here. They will lower your truck if you don't have air bags.

Has anyone lowered the back of an 06 or an 07? The leaf set up on these is different and looks like a longer shackle would be needed to drop these trucks?
