I meant it in power gains, not block design.

Dodgezilla, I have the stock pump intact, was fully functional before the Airdog. If the AD fails, I'll send it back in for warranty (lifetime to boot) and hook the stocker up til then. The Airdog has more mileage on it than my stocker, so far thats a good sign.

Really I'm not trying to push any product on anyone, I was merely pointing out a known flaw in the 03-04 fuel system. With this kind of setup when the pump fails, fuel flow is blocked. The CP3 can draw fuel on its own, but not when there is a puller pump blocking it, hence dead truck. It was enough of a flaw that a manufacturer replacement was made.

This is not a "hey ditch your pump because its inferior" its "watch out, it may happen to you".

I gotcha. I think we are on the same wavelength. Actually, I don't trust that any LP is 100% dependable so it wouldn't matter which one I had. I'd still keep a spare just so I wasn't stranded on the side of the road...........

Sure, if you are building a 500+hp truck then you need more but for a stock or mildly modified truck like mine you really don't need a better LP. I just keep a spare LP in my toolbox. Remember, the stock canister mounted LP is very easy to change if it craps out on you. You cannot say the same for any of the others...
Get yourself a fuel pressure gauge.

Off Rant!!!!!!!
I'm getting the FASS because my 01 went through 3 lift pumps and 3 injection pumps due to lift pump failure. The primary use for my truck is pulling heavy in the mountains of Colorado far away from an asphalt road, much less any help.
Any mods I do are for reliability first.
I'm into preventive work instead of fix it when it breaks. I have been left stranded because of part failures and it sucks.
