dealer time for cam swap
dealer time for cam swap
what does a flat rate shop athorize for a camshaft swap in the 5.9 cummins 24V the truck is an 06 mega cab 4x4. anyone have this done and if so what was the time charged to do it. i got a quote of 2700 if i had a shop or even a garage i would do it myself but i dont so.
that rate is high rip rook charges around 15-18 hours for cam and springs without cutting the 3rd member and i have done a few but my tools will be in transit and i wont have a garage when i get home from this big sandbox. just wondering what mitchem on demand is saying time wise for the cam and springs.
I saw this article regarding a camshaft swap. It details the amount of work involved. They estimate 12 hours so I would say $2700 is too high.
