DC and the CP3
Rich2500 when you swapped out the o-rings to the larger 1mm o-ring did you replace all of them? Ive never spit the pump before so it is hard to visualize what o-ring got replaced. Did you use off the shelf, universal o-rings say from a auto parts store or are they from a diesel injection pump supply house/shop? My concern would be that you want to make sure the o-ring material is compatable with the environment of the CP3. Apparently whatever o-ring material you have used is sufficient.
Thanks for the info!!
Thanks for the info!!
sawboy is correct,I done alot of searching till I found what I needed, then I took it one step further and went the 1mm thicker for a better seal, there are 7 o-rings and two shaft seals that need to be replaced to stop the leak, there is also another seal in the pump but it's not necessary to replace it because it's just a dust and dirt seal and should not be worn at all.
this is where they leak

rich2500,
I am trying to figure out if this is a shot looking up from the ground or from the top??
I am trying to figure out where the CP3's leak at??
I have been searching the forums for the last 30 min's trying to find a pic of the leak.... I thought there was one floating around here but I cant find it.
I am VERY interested in the how to tech write-up on how to rebuild a CP3 to not leak.
Thanks
Mark
Ok what kind of performance issues can you see with a faulty pump.I am getting the odd wiff of diesel and i dont know if its my imagination or not but the truck feels a bit sluggish occasionally.I know it could be other things but is there a slight performance issue?

some have reported that their truck felt a little bit better performance wise after the leak was taken care of,others say they don,t feel a difference,I personally felt a difference after fixing my leak,I think it's a matter of how bad the leak is.

rich2500, So where does it leak from, the freeze plug looking thing or the bolt hole? thanks,Rooster
actually rooster neither, the o-rings internally leak and the fuel comes out between the two halves of the pump,it just so happens that where that bolt hole and plug are is where the fuel drips from,(when the pump is bolted on the truck that is the lowest point of the pump)
