Dashboard rattles

Dashboard rattles

My 05 the dashboard rattles when i turn it on and when i come to a complete stop in traffic.I step on the pedal and it goes away but as soon as i step on the brakes it starts to rattle again. Anyone have a clue whats causing it ?

So do you think it is related to the accelerator pedal?

Probably the best way to find it would be to get it rattling, and (maybe have an assistant) listen, and grab and/or push on various areas.

I tried that with my wife but no luck .I thought it was the exhaust piping but no luck

Have you considered taking part of it apart? Very easy to remove stereo bezel. Only one screw. Kick panel below stering wheel just 2 screws. Now the lower half of the dash is about 20 screws. But all very easy to get too and it removes the cup holders. So if you take all that off and take ride with wife diving and you with a flashlight you may find your issue

Mine will do this every once in a while. It's not coming from the dash but from the plastic cowling vibrating against the windshield. So you might want to check this first before tearing into the dash.

Also, the steering shaft has been known to cause rattles...

Also the transmission dip stick up against the down pipe, drove me nuts trying to find the vibration after they reinstalled tranny. Same exact symptoms.
