Damper/harmonic Balancer Question
My maintenence book that came with my 04 3500 Dodge dually with 24 valve Cummins engine says that in different intervals starting at 60,000 miles should have the harmonic balancer/damper on the front of the engine bolts checked for tightness.
I asked my dealer about this. he says he has never heard of it but it is in the maintenance book that came with the vehicle.
Has anyone experienced this or does anyone have any info regarding this?
Book says that crankshaft damage could result if bolts not checked and get loose.
I am concerned and would appreciate any input .
