Cured my shudder today
Finally got fed up with vibrating my teeth out at take off. Went to Lowes and bought some 1" square steel stock. cut off a nine inch piece drilled holes, and mounter her up there.... I cannot believe the difference.... my truck had the shudder when it was stock, then got worse with the 4" superlift. The truck takes off so smooth, I really can't recommend doing this enough. It will cost you around 10-12 bucks with grade 8 hardware. I'm sure this will help with making the U-joints last a litter longer to!

You state you "mounter her up there...", where is up there and how did you mount her?
Thanks,
Casey
Sorry,
My truck is a long bed 3500, I'm refering to the center bearing of the rear driveshaft... it is bolted up with two bolts... simply drill your 1" square tube X 8 1/2 inches long up there between the fram bracket and the carrier drop bracket... really simple.

Sounds like that is basically what he did. On my 1st gen, after the 4" lift, I also had some shudder and made my own spacer. I took a couple of tries to narrow down the proper length but it was still worht the little $$ involved to get it straight.

How much rear lift did you get with your 4 inch lift? I wasn't sure if it was a 4 inch lift, and 2" rear blocks? or Springs? I'm going with a 4.5 and lifting the rear 3 inchs Via blocks, and am gonna do a 1.75" spacer. Wanted to know how much rear lift you have, with a 1" carrier bearing drop.

Yup, basically just a homemade spacer. My rear lift was only a 2" block, but I had the shudder when I was stock, and the lift made it 10X worse.... but it's like driving a new truck now.
If I recall, DC has a TSB out for take off shudder. All they do is put in a over priced spacer.... and make a huge production out of it as well. My truck has a slight hint of a shudder under heavy acceleration, and its bone stock, so i've bounced the idea around of having it done. Sorry I can't remember the TSB#.
