WOW!! According to the Cummins website it looks like you are right...only problem is that isn't it Dodge who has to do the warranty work? If that's the case good luck convincing them the above is true! Maybe this is something that needs a little more pursuing to get to the bottom of what is and isn't true.

If you do a complete read of the the original post on "that other forum" that started up the recent warranty threads you might consider checking with some source other than DaimlerChrysler. The original post dealt with 1999-2001 Cummins/Rams sold in the U.S.A.

Maybe so but the links from the Cummins website are for 3rd gen Dodges...unless 99-01's came with the 600 series motors??? My owners manual also reads like the original posters manual. Canada or not it seems to be the same info...I'm just curious what DC says about the situation and also curious why Cummins has this info on their website. I know that in reality it is a battle to get DC to do anything with warranty but it is interesting none the less to get the info from the horses mouth.

Actually, I am the original poster. I am quite aware that you were discussing 3rd generation Cummins/Rams. The purpose of reading the original post completely was to point out that asking DaimlerChrysler for information about warranty coverage is a waste of time, at least in the U.S. I don't know how your consumer protection laws are in Canada, but I can't imagine that anything D/C says can trump what you have in your Warranty Information booklet. As far as what is on a Cummins website, it shouldn't have much meaning unless Cummins is providing your engine warranty—are they?

Had I listened to my service writer, dealer, and the national DaimlerChrysler customer service people, I would have paid for the injection pump myself. The only reason D/C didn't take advantage of me was because:
  1. I know what my warranty is
  2. I'm familiar with U.S federal consumer laws
  3. I was willing to to stand up to D/C
