I'd say these tornado's are in the same boat as grid heater deletes, changing your intake manifolds.
Because if we think about it, its only changing the way air enters, not how much enters.
Wow. Real humans that believe these gimmicks work.

You know, some people feel better when given a placebo instead of the real drug. It's true, in blind medical studies, some people are given sugar pills and they SWEAR they are getting better.

Same as the Tornado. It was PROVEN to reduce mileage and power, but some people will say it helps.

I say, put it on the dyno like the testers at Readers Digest and Mythbusters did. The computer isn't fooled by fancy packaging. It won't lie. And the power and mileage went DOWN.

I know folks who put magnets on their fuel lines and SWEAR the mileage went up. You just can't help some people.

So, again, what is the effect of a tornado? It only changes the flow of existing air, not the volume. I was one of the fools that bought a tornado when they first came out..........did nothing for my gasser.

FYI the overhead is useless. You are NOT getting 28 mpg.

I average 16-18 MPG (hand calculated)
My overhead reads about 20% higher than reality.

striclty hwy driving, mine averages 19-20. However, commuting? This thing is awsome. Houston Texas commuting. Its flat, we have overpasses and thats about it. Twice I have gotten 897 miles from a stock tank, topped off both times. Several times in the mid 800's. It averages in the mid-700's. The two 900ish mile runs were done on purpose, right lane driving, trying to stay at or below 60, shifting around 1800 and short shifting. I just wanted to see if I could break 900 on a tank. Its not good for the truck. Its just nice knowing the efficiency is there if I need it, just like knowing the power is there if I should run across a house that needs to be pulled off its slab.

Well put. I got carried away on the "how to" over here:

https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...3&postcount=12

I trip-plan for 700 on every tank.

Wow... 900 a tank... I'm looking for fuel at 500. I can make 600, but NEVER could I get 900. That is really sweet.

Oh well. I'm happy with 18 -19 most of the time and 22 if I baby it. With blended fuel I'm getting 18.5, just put 500 on it this morning and I'll need fuel tomorrow again.

your 1st and main problem is believing what the console is telling you about your MPG.

the only accurate MPG is hand calculations. Odometer VS. how much fuel you actually put in it.

Not a chance. Not even down hill with a tail wind are you getting 31 miles per Imperial gallon HAND calculated.
Sorry hit a wrong key on the calculator. 28 Imp best at 60 or less. The truck runs at 55-60 most trips into the city and back, all hiway, no city. Always in a garage, no warm up time. Average is about 22 US/26 Can for most tanks. The wife put 840km on 5/8ths of a tank through BC. Speed kills mileage. I wouldn't get that but I only drive it to pull stuff.

Yeah, my overhead says I get 26 or 28 quite often. It impresses the Chevy guys when I drive them to lunch, but the over head is WAY off.

Tornado....

I have found that my overhead is VERY optimistic and the real fuel mileage is about 69-72% of what the overhead lie-o-meter tells me. I only dream of a true 20+ mpg.

I wished that I could get any of those numbers you all are getting! My 06 mega cab 5.9 with 315/70/ A T tires and small body lift gets about 11mpg city and 17 hwy and I have tried alot of different options and can not get it to improve, my speedo has been checked and is dead on and I get less than 400 miles on 34 gallons city and never over 475 miles hwy. I bought my dodge because they are supposed to be more effecient than other trucks but so far I'm not impressed. All stock except Baldwin fuel filter.

I drive with my smarty at lvl 9 at all times. My over head tells me I get between 21-24mpg depending on how I'm driving and where. Obviously i get less then that in reality. Prob 18-21mpg in reality... never hand calc'd it. Either way... I'm happy with those numbers with 37's
