CTD 600 vibration at ~70 MPH
Who has it and who doesn't?
From what I'm reading it sounds like alot of new owners have it and if that's true I'm holding off until Dodge fixes it.
Thanks.

New 600 Vibration @ 70mph
I've got it. My dealer had the front shaft rebalanced and that didn't do it, however it has new disc weights on it so it must have been off at least a little. The dealer claims when the front shaft was removed and the truck driven that there was no sound (droan) or vibration. The dealer took a position of indifference, that all them have it and there is no fix. My persistance took me to the area service manager who I spoke to an hour ago. They are sending me to a different dealer for diagnosis and fix. He said it's not something that I need to live with and it can be fixed with proper diagnosis. Without even seeing the vehicle he thinks it's in the rear shaft as he knows of some (#'s unknown) that were welded improperly and have more than suitable run-out. So he is setting up an appointment for me and will be there and I told them I wanted to be there to physically see for myself what was being done. Finally,...someone who gives a s....! If this gets fixed I'll write a letter to Chrysler wheels praising his effort. Later.
Yep, I got it too... Definitely not something I can live with... will be setting up an appt asap. I've read in another post titled "04.5 vibration" that it is the rear driveshaft and in some cases even the transfer case that is to blame.
You might want to ask 4X4 or 4X2 as well. I have a 4X2 and it runs very smooth.
As for run out I wouldnt get your hopes up on that one. The only way I can see it is if the guy doing the balancing was asleep on the job.
Could be a bad Yoke on the shaft or since there are so many people having it, it could be the pitch is off, that would cause a vibration as well.

Guys- I reported this problem/solution weeks ago. Mine did the same thing - got the roving tech involved and got it fixed.
Truck: 04.5 SWB Auto 4x4 - Jan 04 build date
Problem: Vibration/drone at 68-70 MPH
Solution: Replaced rear driveshaft - 50% better. Replaced transfercase 100% better.
You have stay on your service managers - tell them what the fix is.

I looked for a vibration and didnt have, seems that it is on the 4x4's. However the dreaded droan noise that you hear, I think I hear it too and I can mostly here it at that speed. Played around with it some and seems to me its only exhaust noise from that 4" exhaust. Going the same speed I can feather the throttle without doing any real change in speed and can change the sound coming from that area. Seems to me its coming from the rear floorboard.
