Cruse Control Surge

Anybody out there ever had a cruse control surge? Mine seems to be to sensitive. It surges and is always looking for the correct speed. It got even more pronounced when I put a box on it! Any help will be appricated!

I never had it until the dealer did a reflash to fix my tranny. Well, it didn't fix the tranny but now I get the surge between 45-55mph but if I go faster it goes away. Of course, they tell me it's normal even though it never happened before! It does keep the truck at the set speed though, it just doesn't do it smoothly......

Mine does too never did with just chip but when injectors where installed it does it now. I think engine being very quick it gets to adjusted speed faster. up-down-up-down. its to not bad though.

At least I'm not the only one with this little gremlin! Now if we can find the problem. I see there is a saftey reflash for the cruise control (C02) not sure if it is connected.I'm going to check the cable and see if it is sticking. Yell if you have any ideas!

My truck was smooth at 70 mph until I installed a box. I assume the throttle position is adjusted by the cruise control. It seems that the more powerful the engine (add a box) the same amount of throttle adjustment makes the truck speed up significantly more. After that point the cruise control never levels out.

The answer is to switch off the box while using a cruise control or make the throttle less sensitive at low end throttle adjustments.

YOUR LUCKY! Mine had a slight surge when new. It was barley noticable at freeway speeds. The slower the set speed the worse it was. I put a box in it and it amplified the problem! I love the extra ponies but I am addicted to the cruse control. It bugs you a bit with the surging or searching it does. It is a bit to sensitive! It appears there are a few people out there with this little gremlin in just the "03's" I'm hoping we can find the fix for it!

Mine too has the "surge". I can watch the boost gauge move up and down.

Took it to dealer and they replaced servo unit. No help.

By the way does anyone know of a good dealer in east central Iowa.

I bought the truck used from a non dodge dealer and the local guys are treating me like a dung beetle that crawled into their soup.

P.S. I found out their service and parts dept are not open on the weekends.
