Question Cruise Control Help

Just a rookie here, but need some help with a question. I have a 2004 with a cruise control that won't stay on. It will engage until the truck has to accelerate and then shuts off. After that it won't even engage at all. Will do that everytime I get in the truck. Any suggestions?

mine does the samething. I just pushed the brake switch in and out several times and it worked for a couple of weeks. I did not bent the bracket. I think it needs to be replaced. I just need to fnd one. I may try to take it out and see if the connections inside can be cleaned.

The first thing to replace is the steering wheel (left side) switch. It is only about 20 bucks or so. After that, the vacuum pump needs to be replaced... but that is closer to 200. The brake switch is usually the least common answer, but still quite possible.

Ive got the same problem... but it tends to stay on longer at low speeds than higher.

Would this be the vaccuum pump?

WHere is the vaccuum pump located?

vacuum pump is behind the pass side battery. there is also a cc pod under the driver side battery. this is on a 4.5 with the auto.
