Crank, No Start
Crank, No Start
Alright, it was a lovely 4 degrees this morning and the truck started fine, a little rough at first but wasnt too angry. I get out to clean my windows off and it dies off. It was doing fast idle as soon as I started it up. Started it 4-5more times and it would start but die off. If I push the gas it would rev up and die off again. I have not put any additives for anti-gel in her for a while. My first guess was lift pump - mainly because I was researching them last night! ha. What do you guys thihnk? Pump? Gas gelling? If it is the pump how could I test for it?
My first guess is water in fuel and its iced/frozen.How often are you draining your fuel filter cannister? I don't think the WIF warning light works on any of these trucks.Pull the cannister lid and pull the filter and see whats in there. You can also drain it then and with lid off hit the key and see how quick it refills with fuel etc.
Try Power Service 911
Just had mine stop in the deep woods @ -10 F Had to get towed back to the hunting shack by a Chevy.... Swapped Fuel Filter added 911 and fresh fuel, put balance of 911 in tank and she was off to the races. Good luck.

From the number of post I'm seeing it is apparent that fuel companies got caught with pants down on climatized fuel. Or perhaps it has been a long time since you fueled up and stock is several weeks old. A word to wise is go out tomight and get a quart of your favorite anti-gel material and use on way home. I'm on my way to cold country tomorrow. I will be prepared, hopefully.
