Question CR inj connector tubes ?

Does anyone know if the injector fuel connectors can go bad? If so are there any sound or noises that come from a bad one? I have had a slight tapping noise coming from my truck at light throttle. First I thought is was timing. Then replaced FCA,Cascade valve, replaced CP3, bought F1 40HP injectors, Now that I can tweak the setting on my smarty and stack with quad race pressure only I can really hear when turning up the rail pressure. Timing does not effect it at all. Its something between the CP3 pump and the injectors. Checked the pressure relief valve on the rail. That's not it. It seems to be tied to throttle position and only will make the noise once rail psi is over 13500 psi. Not really tied to RPM. Any thoughts?

The connector tubes don't go bad but they do have an edge filter in them...Never heard of them going bad though.

The noise you're hearing could be the noise that most all of us modded CR guys are getting with modded pumps / injectors...

Some call it timing rattle...

Or it could be the infamous gear lash issue from the lack of cp3 timing.. That's mostly at idle though.

I'm leaning toward the pre ignition noise that we all get...Some worse than others... Lower compression makes it worse btw...

I'll post a vid of my truck making the noise (it'll be worse than most due to a bad injector) but it's similar to what most sound like..

Let me know if it's what you're hearing...

Well its the sound of video 1. This noise came on back when I was stock with about 60,000 on the truck. Didn't do it for the first 60,000. Tried the CP3 Pump rotation to get rid of the gear back lash back then. So its not that. I bought the F1 40HP injectors around 100,000 for two reasons the 2003 injectors tips are weak and I was hoping to get rid of the noise. Adjusted the valves when the injectors were changed out. Just put in a Industrial CP3 33% pump. It must be timing but if I put Smarty PoD on timing 4 it doesn't enhance the noise. That's what made me think its was pressure related. If I put Smarty on RP4 and then stack with Quad pressure only I can enhance the noise. I know pressure does effect duration but witch way? Doe it advance the timing or retard?
Swole I have been reading the SSR post trying to get as much info for my 2003. I will be going to SSR in the every near future. My stock turbo is killing me and I will not be upgrading for months. I am just concerned that it will make the noise worse.

Well if it did not make the noise for 60,000 and now it does, I'm starting to worry that you may have a bad injector or two..

Long time ago I started getting noise outta my stix that was not normal but did sound like a timing rattle a bit... It got a bit worse and then I started having starting problems... It eventually got to where it would start without a shot of ether...

Turns out that bad injector had already done the damge before I replace it... The truck still ran pretty good but had a bit of a rough cold start.. Little white smoke and sputtering till it got warm(er).

When I finally pulled the head to start modding, this is what we found..

Have your injectors tested soon. Just to make sure.
