Sure glad this is not an item that caused my truck to be down.

Anyone have any idea what the "two other pieces" might be, because he didn't know.
My work order showed the following:
Warranty Claim
14450102 43 A (no description) 16
(F) R5104877AA (PUMP) 1
5086850AA (COVER) 1

No idea what the first part number is but the 16 must be quantity as the other parts showed quantity 1.

The R on the pump is for remanufactured.

Went by the dealer today and talked to the parts girl. The pumps had not been shipped like they first said! She checked on them and none in the pipeline and they were on backorder I was nice to her and she said let me see what I can do here. She spent about 30 min. on the phone calling other dealers and when she hung up, both pumps were on the way! All these dealers computers link together so they can see who has what and if your waiting on a pump and they say it's on order you better check on it to see if it's backordered and if it is they can get you one from another dealer if they're willing to go to the trouble... My dealer said the pump itself was there, but they were waiting on those elusive "two additional parts".

Maybe one of these guys that are diesel techs could tell you what those two parts could be. Doesn't make sense, my parts girl said the transfer pump came in a complete kit with one part number and there shouldn't be anything else to go with the cp3 because it's just replacing the pump with a nother one just like it, sounds alittle fishy. I'll have to ask. Service is now closed until Tuesday. I wonder if they meant the lift pump as well?

Another week later, and the parts are STILL backordered. Ridiculous. While I wouldn't go back to a Ford ( ), when something went wrong with the PSD (which happened alot), I never had to wait two weeks on parts.

Luckily, I don't need this truck to make my living, nor was this an item which caused the truck to be down. Still, it IS leaking, which wastes fuel, and is environmentally unsound.

the o-ring on the cp3 gear, the cover plate for the access hole to get to the gear, or banjo gaskets (as you mention above).

Do dealers get parts allocated like they get vehicles allocated? I'm asking, because this is a very small Dodge dealer.

I believe next time I need something under warranty, I'm going to go to one of the "big boys" in town. They might be able to get parts more quickly.

Don't know that a bigger dealership gets parts quicker then a smaller one but could be. It took roughly 3 business days for my dealer to get a replacement CP3 for my truck. I wonder if your delay has to do with a large demand for the pumps or because of the revised "S" pump discussed here is in short supply? Might be interesting to find out.

It will be two weeks tomorrow. I realize there were two holidays involved, but still. The thing is - the pump itself is in - just not the ancilliary parts.

Scott...what ancilliary parts? They reuse the pump gear and usually the gear cover (which they broke on mine). Whats left are the washers for the banjo bolts. I don't get it. Also just an FYI make sure when they do repair it they tighten the intake hose clamps. I drove mine 3 miles with no boost. LOL. Of course they were very surprised when I complained because they said they did test drive it before I picked it up. Sure they did.

Also, make sure that they gently tighten the Timing cover as it cracks and/or breaks very easily. If they remove the fan also ask if they locktited it back on. The dealer didn't do mine and when the fan came off it did much damage, about $1200 plus 6 days of car rental.

Great. Between Donhov's and Buzzer's issues, I think I'd rather live with the drip.
