couple of questions?
I had the upper u joint go bad on the rear drive shaft of my 2004.5 quad cab long box 3500.
I replaced it and now have a awful vibration.
Question
(1 should the carrier bearing be changed too when the u joint goes bad ?
(2 is the carrier bearing pressed on the short shaft?

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
You have probablly mis phased the joints on the two shafts to get a awful vibration. Crosses must line up for each section(piece) of shaft. The rear joint at yoke may not be properly installed is another possibility.
you did replace the entire u joint didn't you. Don't know what a upper joint in driveline is??????

Any body know the answer to either question?
Upper u joint is the one closed to the carrier bearing on the long shaft, lower one is next to the diff. and the third one is off the tranny ahead of the carrier bearing.
How can they not be properly installed? Each end of the long shaft has the yokes welded in place the joints can only go in one way.
