Couple of issues..steering...clutch

So I need a new clutch. Mods are in sig. Don't tow. mash the skinny pedal a fair amount, but not racing or roasting tires. Is it worth it to replace with a southbend, etc? Who's replacing theirs with a stock clutch and mild mods?

Along similar lines, I need a steering box. Is it worth it buy a more expensive unit or use a NAPA brand, etc?

Thanks for the help.

Guess I'm trying to justify the double cost based on my truck usage.

Redhead makes a very good rebuilt steering gear.

I think you'd really like Southbend's OKHD. Quite smooth and will hold 425hp conservatively.

Thanks for the reply.

Understood that I can pay double for a performance clutch and steering gear. Just wondering if its worth paying double since I'm not towing, etc.

Wanted to hear from some people that have mild performance mods using stock clutch, etc.

My previous two 24v trucks had decent mods to each (tuner, BHAF, 35s, 6" lifts), with no ill effects on the stock clutches. My new one, however, is quickly turning into a money pit. Just put my Edge CTS2 on it, and overpowered the clutch on the fourth or fifth flogging Saturday. I don't tow regularly (I have a double axle roll-off trailer for cars), nor do I try to spin four 37" expensive tires, but I like pinning my passengers in the seat, so I ordered up yesterday a South Bend dual disc street clutch. Yes, expensive, but I know I will drive this truck like a jackass at times, so this should be the last clutch I'll ever need. Probably could have gone with one of their single disc units, but I wasn't willing to take that risk.
