Coughing Cummnz

My 03 makes a coughing type sound when it shifts from 2nd to 3rd? dosnt seem to be causing any problems but it is annoying none the less, i have noticed it just does it when my BDTD is set on stock mode but never does it on the tow mode or higher settings, maybe a fuel/air mix problem? i've never had a diesel do this before.
Thx

If it's what I think it is, it's actually normal on the DC. It is the wastegate- sounds weird, but not abnormal at all.

Yeah that would be it, i've noticed it only does it when i get on it hard to pass someone and then have to back off fast to slow down, hopefully it's not hurting anything it's mainly annoying me.

It's normal for the DC. (You'll get used to it!)
