The HIGH END is a Group 4 which from what I know is a pure syn.that is able to go longer drain intervals.Same with oil.Lots of group threes call them selves synthetics but are on the lower end of the scale.

yep... so for sure I'll be buying ATF+4 from someone cheaper than Mopar if it's the same stuff.

I guess I was wondering about the AMSOIL version for mixing in... since if you listen to those guys the AMSOIL will somehow drop transmission temps and increase fuel economy and practically drive the truck for you.

This time around I've got a $100 of ATF+4 in my garage to use. Next time we'll shop. I like to drain/refill my pan every 20,000 or so to keep a good mix of ATF in there all the time (my theory at least)

The Group 4 synthetics(Amsoil is just one of them) do pretty much as advertised. Its in my transfer case of my 03,the auto trans in my 98 1500 and my 06 Mercury Gran Marguis. Its all I put in a auto trans.Over the years I've had several engineers withen several differant areas of the auto trans market say the same thing.Use a top shelf synthetic trans fliud and cut your chances of a failure. Why do you think Chrysler went totaly for previous and late models to ATf+4? Same way of thinking apprently as the engineers that mention to me the same thing.
