correcting speedo on a 06

dealer told me "its not a option on this truck" i put on 285's and had to take it in for a reflash for the long crank, and asked them to correct the speedo for the 285.

I'm pretty sure it's BS. It is in the starscan tool and entered as revs per mile. The only thing different between the auto and stick is the high idle option using the cruise button.

Speedo adjust should be the same for both. I have an 06 auto and had it done no problem at the dealer. Just gave them the revs per mile.

Looks like you and I both need new dealers with a real service department.

Mine said they can't do the tire size any bigger than stock 265's and that the manual high idle has been phased out of the new ECM flashes.

On the 06 they can only enter in factory tire sizes to change you speedo. I think the Power Wagon comes with 285 so they should be able to do it.
on the 05 and older they can do REVS per mile.
I had to get a smarty to change mine.

So the Smarty does adjust the speedo on the '06s? I've been told it doesn't. Does it work by revs per mile? or tire size?

It works by tire size in inches. It can range from 25.00" to 45.00" in increments on 0.05". This only works when it's locked to your VIN.

Can anyone verify this? I heard that the tire size calibration was not yet available on the predator.....but may be in a future revision???

I had my dealer do it or atleast they said they did. Called it a pinion ration change. It did change the speedo to really close but not perfect.

285's is the biggest tire your dealer can program in with a 06 truck.
older trucks could program ANY revs they want BUT NOT ON THE 06's..they use a different scan tool then the old trucks.
