cooling fan bearing

Hey guys. Haven't been on in awhile. Need a hand. I am hearing/feeling a strong vibration inside the cab at certain times while driving and have been waiting for it to get bad enough that I can diagnose it. It seems to be happening when the temp is rising and the fan should be engaging, so I am pretty sure it's the fan hub bearing. When the engine is off and cool the fan will not free-spin, but I think I recall that it used to. I can turn it by hand, but it is tight and will not free spin. Will somebody confirm for me whether this is correct? Just trying to make sure before I order parts and start disassembling things.
