Coolant reccomendations?

So I'm going to replace my water pump this week (leaking bad) and I want to flush out the cooling system while I'm at it. Is there some special coolant that Cummins specs out or will any diesel coolant work? I tried searching on here but couldn't come up with anything.

Thanks guys!

Cummins and Dodge REQUIRE a H.O.A.T formula (Hybrid Organic Additive Technology)

Tim, is that 'HOAT' compatible? I didn't read anything in the specs that it was. Im not saying the Chevron is bad stuff at all.....but im not sure it's what our engines require.

I know Zerez G-05 is HOAT compatible.

Zerx G05 is what you want. Here's a good thread on flushing and coolant.

Yes it is H.O.A.T. On the back of the jug it states the rest of the criteria. It is approved for, and by Cummins. I little more expensive, but worth it in my opinion. It is nice not have to worry about the water you are mixing it with.

Pre-Diluted = Watered down. You only get 1/2 the product, but you pay more than 1/2 the price. What a rip off. I guess it's for people who are not bright enough to add water on their own. Brilliant marketing, though

Interesting info guys, thanks! The dealer I bought the truck off of replaced the water pump (twice actually) and the coolant thats in it is orange. Which leads me to believe that its dexcool, meaning that I'm gonna have to flush everything thoroughly unless I want my coolant to turn to jello.

No, it was a GMC/Chevy dealer. Not too impressed with them cheaping out on parts but I kinda expected that. Get it done the cheapest way possible since its not a GM truck...

I didn't know that the Mopar coolant is orange, thanks for the info!

Wow the voice of intelligence. I guess you have a water supply with perfect ph and no mineral content to mix with your 100% coolant. People like you add contaminated coolant to engines and then a year later you wonder why the cylinder liners, (or block), or (oil cooler) are all pitted out leaching coolant into the engine oil wiping out the engine. Where is the money savings then genius?

Well it sure isn't too difficult finding gallons of distilled water at the grocery. So it's more cost effective getting the concentrate and buying water.

The zerex that I found at NAPA that was 50/50 stated for asian cars but it also listed it as HOAT. The 50/50 was only about .30 cheaper than the straight coolant
