WHO CAN TELL ME WHAT COMMON RAIL MEANS

Think of common rail as the diesel equivalent of a fuel rail in a gasser. Instead of each injector getting fuel fed to it from the injector pump, the high pressure pump feeds the rail which in turn feeds the injectors.

That's the gist of it. If I'm incorrect here, someone please correct me.

all the injectors are fed through the rail not individually by an injection pump

Also instead of the fuel pressure over coming a spring in the injector to open it, they are opened electrically.
