Collecting An Oil Sample?
I change my stratapore at 15,000 without any problems shown on the oil analysis. If fact it says to that I can use the oil for another 15,000 miles. If you look at the book for the truck it says under Service schedule "B" that you can go 15,000 on a oil change. So far that is the max that I've run the oil. But that was on regular Dino. Now we'll see how the next oil report goes with Synthetic Rotella.
Just out of curiousity, I ordered a pump and sample kit from Blackstone and changed to a smaller diameter suction hose.
After several attempts, I got about 1/2' oil in the bottle and nothing more.
What could I have done wrong?
The suction tube appeared to be in the oil.

The oil may be too cold or the tube is collapsing. Either get the oil hotter or get a more rigid tubing. At the end of the dipstick tube it feels like some sort of a ridge that may prevent the tube from going any farther. Put some tape on the suction tube to make sure the insertion is exactly the same length as the oil dipstick. Hope that does it.
does anyone else run more than 7500 with dino oil and a stock filter?
ive been running baldwin filters and 7500 OCI, i got a fumoto valve and a sample kit from blackstone and im going to get a sample this time at 7500, ive been thinking 10000 would be ok since its between dodge and cummins' reccomendations
