Changed My Air Filter
Stupid question, but I changed my air filter today. Very cold outside and I had trouble getting the top back on the air box. Finally coaxed it on and got it latched. However, you can barely see the pink rubber of the filter on the two (2) outside corners of the air box. Is this normal and OK or do I have the top of the box installed incorrectly? Changing the fuel filter was a snap...no problem at all. Thanks.
It's hard to tell. It's kind of like checking to see if the refrigerator light goes out when you close the door.
If you still have the old filter, I'd reinstall it and compare how it reassembles as compared to the new one. The last thing you want is an air leak there. I had a Cat engine that got wiped out in about 1000 miles due to a defective air filter seal.
