Carrier bearing spacers

I am getting driveline shudder when pulling my fifth wheel. From what I have read in these forums it is most likely the carrier bearing needing to be shimmed. there are six different sizes available ranging from 14 to 133 mm, I m not sure which size to use any help would be appreciated.

Their is a TSB on this and the instructions on how to measure with a inclination gauge. Its pretty easy.Truck needs to have trailer or load on it and 0n level ground.Tech that checked mine was under it all of two or three minutes.Mine was dead in specs with a 3 horse/8 foot living qtrs horse trailer with front generator/propane tanks, hyd.jack etc.

Not always.I was told over and over a shot u/joint on a hot shudder on take off.U/joints were like new when pulled apart.Mine I think was in the liminted slip in the differantial.Have not pulled heavy enough far enough to check if repaired but I ruined three like new u/joints hunting my shudder.

Not necessarily, I now have a slight shudder unloaded that only started after replacing the factory joints with Precisions. My vibration is gone, but now I have this.

my center u joint was completely gone at 28k, all of a sudden it was just vibrating like crazy. it was still tight, but hot as heck to the touch. i think chris may be right. even if it isnt completely joints, at least you can replace them with greaseables and be done with it.
