My 04.5 will not spin off power brake either, and I always thought it was because of the electronics protecting the tranny. I might have to try this rolling start deal and make some marks.

Are you sure it isn't in 4 wheel drive? You should be able to burn 'em until they blow in 2wd w/o a load in the bed.....especially w/ a Smarty.
